Dam Run 5K, 10K and 1 mile (Adult & Kids)

Ogallala Dam Run is a fun run around the beautiful lake Ogallala, there are 2 courses 1mile, 5K and this year to celebrate our 10th anniversary we will do a 10K.

The race proceeds will go towards Rotary Polio Plus & the remaining for local Ogallala Rotary Club projects.

Enjoy a Beautiful run by Lake Ogallala, don’t miss the great opportunity to help the Rotary Club of Ogallala to raise money to eradicate Polio.
All the proceeds will go towards Polio Plus.
Polio Plus : Polio is a crippling and potential fatal infectious disease that still strikes children mainly under age 5 in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. It can paralyze and sometimes cause death. There is not a cure for Polio but it can be prevented with vaccine. Rotary International’s Polio Plus goal is to help eradicate Polio worldwide. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has given $355 million to Rotary towards Polio Plus, of which Rotary will match $200 million thereby giving a total of $555 million toward Polio eradication.

Pre-Registration required to guarantee a t-shirt, deadline July 10th, $35 registration fee day of event!! You can still register in this website until July 22nd but T-shirt is not guaranteed.

*Age 10 and under are FREE. Youth t-shirts available for sale the day of the event!

Registration starts at 7:30 am and race starts at: 8:00AM

* There is no registration fee for paper registration, please print a form or pick up a form at Pinnacle Bank of Ogallala, there is a small fee for online registrations because of the credit card payment.

*Event paid for the Keith County Visitor Center.

    

Walk for Water

Join the Ogallala High School Interact Club as they support Katie Spotz’ charity, H2O for Life, as she raises awareness for clean water around the world.

Katie Spotz rowed across the Atlantic Ocean in 2013. She set a world record for the youngest ever solo ocean rower, one of many records to her name. Katie raised over $150,000 for her charity, H2O for Life. She continues to raise awareness of the plight of billions around the world suffering from a lack of safe drinking water.

B.Y.O.B. “Bring Your Own Boat”

Canoe, Kayak or anything you may have powered by humans & oars!!  For those of you that don’t have a boat we will have 10 to 20 Kayaks available from Scott Eveland of the Nebraska Game & Parks for your use.

Launch will be from the Boat Ramp @ Kingsley Bay with calm wind or a breeze out of the south, Martin Bay if there is a breeze out of the north & Lake Ogallala below the dam if it’s too windy for the Big Lake.
